Our commitment

GCSE.now is used by children and young people aged 13–16. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We follow the principles of Working Together to Safeguard Children (HM Government) and the Children Act 2004.

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for safeguarding concerns. Contact the DSL at seun@lotipic.com. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

How we protect users

Content filtering: AI inputs and outputs are filtered for self-harm, sexual content, violence, and personal information. Harmful prompts are blocked and signposted to support.
Reporting: Every AI message, flashcard and support ticket has a Report button. Reports go to our moderation queue and are reviewed within 24 hours.
No contact between users: GCSE.now has no public messaging, comments or social features. Users cannot contact each other.
Parental oversight: The Family plan lets a parent see a child's progress, but not their AI conversations.
Data minimisation: AI conversations are auto-deleted after 12 months.
Age gate: We block signups under 13 and ask under-16s for parental consent.

What we do if there's a concern

The DSL reviews the report within 24 hours.
If a child is at risk of significant harm, the DSL refers to the relevant local authority children's social care and/or the police.
We preserve evidence and cooperate with statutory agencies.
We may suspend accounts involved in safeguarding concerns while we investigate.

Online Safety Act

We have completed illegal-content and children's risk assessments under the Online Safety Act 2023. See our Complaints Procedure for how to raise a concern about harmful content.
